The desktop is the primary user interface of a computer.
When you boot up a computer, the desktop is displayed once the start up process is complete. It includes the desktop background (or wallpaper) and icons of files and folders you may have saved.
In Windows the desktop can include a task bar, which is located at the bottom of the screen by default.
On a Mac (OS/X) the desktop includes a menu bar at the top of the screen and the dock at the bottom.
Desktop may also refer to a PC (personal computer) itself.

Direct Inward Dial (Number) - a telephone number often assigned to reach an individual directly. The term may refer to the action of dialing a DID or the DID number.
