2014.02.12 Vancouver Network Disruption

At 14:57:20 PST (UCT-8) we detected total packet loss at one of our Vancouver locations. While investigating the cause, service was restored at 15:03:38 (UCT-8) before service transfer could be affected.

The immediate conclusion was that the issue was not located within our network and apparently did not trigger any equipment restarts.

Upon investigation with upstream providers we were informed a technician working in the building accidentally caused the power loss to a network switch.

We appologize for the inconvenience this may have caused, and will follow up with staff at the NOC in an attempt to minimize the risk of any recurrance.
