2012.10.30 VoIP Advisory related to Hurricane Sandy

Be advised that Hurricane Sandy is adversely affecting data and phone switching facilities in several locations along the US eastern seaboard. New York has sustained significant damage and as a result power has been cut to several key data centres. These data centres are currently running on generator power. However fuel deliveries at this time are uncertain. Flooding in the basements where fuel was stored has caused a demand for additional fuel delivery and current conditions continue to make these efforts difficult.
Please expect outages to these areas and curtail calls to affected areas if possible.
Bitblock facilities in Montreal have not been affected at this time.
