2011.11.01 Carrier failure affects inbound calling

2011.11.01 12:08 - Second Update

After experiencing intermittent service on inbound traffic for over three hours, service seems to have stabilized.

Upon receipt and review of the post-incident report (likely today or tomorrow) we will post findings and next steps which will be implemented by the carrier to ensure this issue does not repeat.

Since the outage caused by the AllStream fiber cut in 2008 we have not experienced a carrier disruption of this nature, however we regard any service disruption including those caused by our suppliers to be serious. We will continue to work on this issue until the cause is known and documented and adequate steps have been taken to ensure a recurrence is unlikely.

2011.11.01 09:45 - First Update

After noticing a brief return to service the problem seems to have returned. We are continuing to routework toward resolution and will provide updates as they are available.

2011.11.01 08:15 - Initial report

We are aware of an inbound calling failure affecting a large number of customers at this time. The problem, has been tracked to the carrier network itself, and the carrier is aware of the problem. The problem affects customers throughout Canada.

Outbound calling issues have been resolve by routing around the affected carrier, however inbound calling of specific number is tied to a specific carrier. We will be in close contact with the carrier and provide updates as they are available.
