2010.10.14 Power Outage in TO causes phone disruption

Early this morning we became aware that one of our carriers was suffering a loss in phone service affecting some of our customers. We attempted to contact them to confirm the issue, however that proved difficult  - possibly due to call volume.

Outbound service was unaffected due to our redundant / fault tolerant network.

We did confirm the existance of a power failure in Toronto that was affecting many ISP's and news stations including CBC (reportedly cancelling the world news hour today).

As of 11:00am PDT the service issue seems to be completely restored, however we will continue to monitor the situation closely.
