How to turn Word on or off as your Outlook email editor or viewer

1. To turn Word on or off as your email editor, open Outlook.

Click on the Tools menu, and then Options...

If you can not find "Options..." click on the expand arrow at the bottom of the Tools menu.

2. In the Options window, Click on the Mail Format tab.

Select or clear the Use Microsoft Office Word to edit e-mail messages.

Selecting the Use Microsoft Office Word to read Rich Text e-mail messages if you often receive the message "This message contains formatting that is best viewed with Microsoft Word. Click here to display in Word."
