How to Set Up Touchdown on your Smart Phone

Touchdown is an application that can be used to keep your Exchange account for work separate from your personal information on your phone. In the situation where your company wants to wipe your phone of company data, without Touchdown, your personal information may be mixed with it and also wiped. Touchdown separates your work and personal information. You can learn more about Touchdown here. You must buy Touchdown from your Ap Store before you are allowed to download it.

Here are the instructions on how to set up Touchdown on your Smartphone.

Note: This example was made with screenshots of a Samsung Galaxy S5, different types of Smartphones and Operating Systems will have slight differences.

1. Once Touchdown is installed, you will need to configure it to work with your Email. From the main page, touch "Configure your Account."

2. Next you must enter your Email address and your password. Configuring your account must be done manually, select Manual at the bottom right corner of the screen.

3. This is where you must enter your information. We will send all of the necessary information to you in an Email when you wish to set up your Email on your phone or when your Email account is first made. You can also request the information from us at any time or you can find your information by logging in to our website and checking our UserOpts tool.

4. Be sure to select ActiveSync or other Exchange protocols. You are most likely not using POP3 on a Smartphone and our servers do not support IMAP anymore. Select "Next."

5. Now your account will try to configure.

If the account was configured properly you can continue so you can adjust your synchronization settings.
