How to Search Using Metro in Windows 8

The Windows 8 Metro Screen has a much more powerful search ability than previous versions of Windows. To search using the Windows 8 Metro Screen you must first go to the Metro Screen.

1. If you are in the Desktop you can get to the Metro Screen by either selecting the Windows icon on the bottom left hand side of the screen (circled in red) or pushing the Windows key on your keyboard. You may get to the Metro Screen from any application by simply pressing the Windows key on your keyboard.

2. You will now be in the Metro Screen, which should look something like this:

3. Searching in the Metro Screen in Windows 8 is pretty straight forward. Just start typing and a search window will pop up in the top right hand corner of the screen.

4. You can select where you would like to search by choosing from the drop down menu above the search bar. The options include Settings, Files, Web Images, and Web Videos or you can search everywhere.
