Creating A Profile For Outlook

This guide will show you how to create a new profile for Outlook. This process is the same for Outlook 2007, 2010, and 2013. Profiles are useful when you have multiple people using Outlook on the same computer, and there may be instances when something becomes corrupted and the profile will need to be recreated.

1. Go to the Control Panel and open "Mail (32-bit)":

2. Click on "Show Profiles":

3. Click on "Add":

4. Type in a desired name for the profile then click "OK":

5. Follow the guide for either a POP3 or Microsoft Exchange account:

6. After you're finished setting up the account make sure you select the new profile if you have "Always use this profile" selected, or choose the correct profile at the prompt when you start Outlook if you have "Prompt for a profile to be used" selected:

You will now be able to use the new profile with Outlook. Please note that your account mailbox will need to be downloaded when you launch Outlook using a new profile. Depending on the size of your mailbox and the speed of your internet connection, this may take some time. You can use your account normally while your mailbox is being downloaded.
