Fibre cut affects BT / East London

Please be advised that BT Wholesale suffered damage to a major fibre serving a large part of East London over the weekend. As the damage was 32m below ground, and access to the site is difficult, we understand it may take several days for this to be fixed.

This issue does NOT affect our supplier network and inbound services, including number ranges in the affected areas, but it does affect a very large number of other providers and their subscribers.

This notice servers to alert you to possible low ASRs on outbound calls to numbers in the East London area where diminished capacity on other networks will lead to intermittent busy signals. Less likely are erroneous reports of number outages due to the subscriber's network being affected.
