2016.12.01 Skyway Core Internet Issue

Issue resolved at approximately 17:50PST

Through out the day services experienced multiple periods of restoration and failure. We responded to many requests to re-route calls, and restore calls. We appologize to anyone who felt our response was slower rhan desired. Different Skyway clients will have seen their services restore at different times.

Our intention is to follow up with a plan to facilitate disaster planning for those clients who are interested to work around a network failure or other large and long term failures such as fire, flood, or long term power outtage.

We will follow up with Skyway and when we have further information which could help in mitigation of future events we will post details. We encourage clients to contact Skyway by email to reduce the load on their support call center to reduce the impact of information requests on their ongoing support operations.

Initial reports started around 10:00 PST

Skyway West has been experiencing multiple failures today in Internet services. The failures have affected all known combinations of services, which affects voice services delivered on that network.

As of 1:30PM PST, the recording on the support line at Skyway would indicate there is not currently an ETA for repair but they are hoping the issue will be resolved soon. At this time we do not know what the cause of the failure is.

We are working hard to help our shared clients work around the disruption - and we can work with anyone who wants to implement deeper disaster mitigation strategies once this issue is resolved.
