CRTC Increases Efforts to Catch Bogus Telemarketers

Robocalls have been around for ages, but CTV News reports is becoming more and more common for overseas telemarketers to pretend to be North American companies in order to trick consumers into giving them information. Companies whose names have been used by phone scammers include Telus, Microsoft and WestJet. The CRTC is now trying to collect information on the fraudsters to attempt to make them to comply with our laws.
